Dear Kids Exchange Past Sellers who have not sold since 2007:
Kids Exchange implemented 2 mandatory tagging changes in 2008. These changes are simple for sellers and worked GREAT. The goal was to make our sorting of unsold items more accurate and effecient. Please reveiw the 2 changes below and be sure to implement these mandatory changes when tagging for all future Kids Exchagne Sales. Thank you so much for your involvement with the Kids Exchange.
Change #1: Colored Coded Card Stock
All items that you wish to pick up if unsold must be tagged with colored card stock tags.
All items that you wish to give to charity if unsold should be tagged with white card stock.
Sellers should print tags on both colored card stock and white card stock. When tagging your items, please decided with each individual item whether you wish to give the item to charity if unsold or if you'd like to pick the item up if unsold, and tag the item accordingly.
* Our goal with this system to to keep volunteers from sorting items that end up going to charity. Sorting unsold items for Seller Pickup is a HUGE job and very time consuming. In order to be efficient and accurate, we had to put this system in place (and it worked GREAT) and respectfully ask all Sellers to firmly following this procedure.
* If Sellers use all colored card stock and then leave a portion of items for charity - this means that volutneers spent time sorting items that did not need to be sorted. It is very important to print tags on both colored and white card stock and tag the individual item according to your wish to donate (white tags) or keep (colored tags) if unsold.
* ALL ITEMS TAGGED WITH COLORED CARD STOCK MUST BE PICKED UP BY THE SELLER AND CAN NOT BE LEFT FOR CHARITY. Sellers that leave items tagged with colored card stock for charity will be contacted and ask not to slow up the sorting process by tagging all items with colored card stock.
* Neutral colors are considered white: beige, off white, grey, etc will be considered "white". Please use a strong color to mark your item for pick up if unsold ~ Neon colors and strong pastel colors work great.
* Please do not use red card stock. Red does not scan well.
Change #2 Sorting Numbers
* Sellers now have two numbers on their tags. Your 'Seller Number' is located by your barcode and will never change. We determine who to pay by your permanent 'Seller Number'
* 'Sorting Numbers' are located at the bottom right corner of your tag and will automatically be printed on your tags as you print tags off our website for an upcoming sale. We will use this 'Sorting Number' to sort unsold items for Seller pickup. The 'Sorting Number' is sale specific and will change with every sale. After each sell, our website is reset and will begin giving 'Sorting Numbers' for the next sale. You will be allowed the option to request your previous 'Sorting Number' if you plan to bring unsold items previous tagged for a past sale back to the Kids Exchange.
* Please DO NOT request a sorting number until you are absolutley sure you will be Selling at the next event. We use Sorting Numbers to know who will be at any given sale. If Sellers are assigned a sorting number (by printing tags for an upcoming sale), and they decide not to attend a given sale, this will cause our sorting system to not run as smoothly.
Question:
What if I have items tagged from a previous sale and I would like to sell them at the next sale....do I need to retag?
Answer:
* If you do not receive your sorting number from a past sale, or you have items with no sorting number, you DO NOT have to completely re tag your items. Simply choose "print my sorting stickers" off our Sell Page and print these stickers on any standard return address label sheet (available at Walmart for $3). You will then place the sorting stickers over the last sales Sorting Number -- and your previously tagged item is now ready for the next sale. When placing the sorting stickers on your tags, you will wrap the blank right side of the sticker around to the back of the tag. Only half the stickers shows on the front of our tag.
* If you tag with white card stock - indicating the item goes to charity if unsold, you do not need to worry about a sorting number or sticker. The Sorting number will not be looked at if the tag is white.
* When you print new tags for an upcoming sale, your Sorting Number will automatically be printed on your tag and there will be no need for a sorting sticker.
* Thank you for your partnership in help us to better our system. Sellers for the January '08 event found these changes to be quick and did not consume much additional time or effort. The sorting night went VERY smoothly and quickly. Thanks again for your help and involvement.
