SEVERE WEATHER POLICY

In the event of a severe winter storm, the Kids Exchange hours will be held as normal. This includes all receiving and sale times. All volunteers please show up for your scheduled times if at all possible. The Kids Exchange can not move or change the times / days of the sale because the building is rented to a different event immediately following our show. We must do the best we can with the weather. In the past, we have had a very good turn out even in the middle of a winter storm. :

PICKING UP UNSOLD ITEMS:
If a winter storm does not allow for consignors to pick up their unsold items, we will do our best to have a "make- up" day and time where these items can be picked up. We will first work with the Farm Show (who occupies our building immediately following our show) in asking that they allow us to use a small portion of the building until the roads are passable. If the storm continues and we must leave the building, the items will be moved to another building on the fairgrounds property or to our charity's warehouse for consignor pickup.

Please note that the make-up day is entirely left to the discretion of Kids Exchange. Due to scheduling, we cannot guarantee that one will be held. If it is, the re-scheduled pickup will be on the first day that the roads are passable. This day and time will be determined solely by Kids Exchange.

Changes in consignor pickup will only be made if the roads are ABSOLUTELY impassable. Light snow or ice are not considered severe and will not change the times / dates of "unsold items pickup".

* Please note that it is VERY important for super volunteer to show up for sorting on Sunday note regardless of the weather. If possible, have your spouse bring you in a 4-wheel drive and we will pay them to help us sort as well. : Without our super volunteers showing up to sort…..the consignors items will not be in order for pick-up. Please keep this in mind as you choose to sign up for a super volunteer slot.

During a severe weather situation, please continuously check the Kids Exchange website for last minute changes. Plans change quickly during these types of situations and we ask that you check the website several times during the day and definitely before leaving for the event. The website is our only means of communication during a storm. We do not have internet access at the fairgrounds and can not email consignors. All changes will be posted immediately and we will do our very best to communicate with all consignors and shoppers in the most comprehensive way possible.
